  • Dual Credit Overview

    View the link below to see an overview of all of SD83's Dual Credit programs.  For more information, please take a look a the videos and program specific 'rack cards'. If you are interested in a program, go to your Career Centre and talk to your career co-ordinator or career clerk.

  • Automotive Repairer and Collision Technican (Autobody)

    The Autobody program is taught through flexible learning with Vancouver Community College.  Students spend their time working on line, at work experience and at the autobody shop at A.L. Fortune Secondary.

  • Automotive Service Technician (AST)

    AST is taught at Salmon Arm Secondary - Sullivan Campus. Students spend one semester (full time) in the shop discovering the AST1 outcomes.

     

  • Hairdressing

    Hairdressing is taught at Pleasant Valley Secondary in Armstrong. Students spend the second semester of their Grade 11 year and the first semester of their Grade 12 year in the working salon at the school.

  • Professional Cook 1 (PC1)

    The PC1 program is taught through flexible learning with Camosun College.  Students spend their time working on line, at work experience and one day a week in the foods room at A.L. Fortune Secondary working on relevant practical labs.

  • 4th Class Power Engineering (BCIT)

    In this program, students engage in on-line course work in the Power Engineering field.  There is a Part A and B to this program.  Students are also expected to work in a site that has a boiler on site in order to gain hours towards their certification.

    • Programs at other Post Secondary Institutes

      Salmon Arm and Vernon have a rotating trades program that gives students access the Welding Foundations, Plumbing Foundations and Electrical Foundation programs. Students also have Students are also eligible to take many of the programs (like Heavy Duty Mechanics, Millwright....) at colleges in British Columbia.
